Gavin is a Welsh-born artist who began studying art in his homeland before moving to Santa Barbara, where he’s lived for the past two decades.

Having always remained creative, with a pencil and paper never far from hand, Gavin returned to painting during a period of personal grief. What started as a therapeutic outlet gradually turned into a creative practice that remains intimate and authentic.

Rooted in abstraction, Gavin’s paintings explore the interplay of color, texture, and form, embracing imperfection and impulsiveness. This intuitive, instinctual approach allows each work to unfold its own story, inviting viewers to engage with its layers and discover personal meaning and connection.
